We’re just about done with 2nd grade.  We’ve already had our final review for the year, and I suppose if I weren’t so anally structured we could technically just stop now, since we’ve covered everything.  But, we’re still going to go through until the last Friday in May as originally planned.  We have some lapbooks to finish up, and I’d like to get a little further in her grammar workbook even though we’re going to continue to work in it over summer vacation.  We’ll also set time aside each day (an hour or so) and work in a couple other workbooks I have for her that we just never got to.  Of course when she’s in New Jersey visiting with my family all bets are off because that’s total vacation time.

Our review went very well.  The lady we met with was very supportive of homeschooling and very impressed with Meg’s work and my organization.  She sent a really nice letter, confirming that we indeed passed our evaluation and she wrote that she “commends us both on a fantastic year” and wished us “much continued success”.  She also advised that I not put her into school at all and just homeschool through high school – which floored me because that’s the first time I’ve heard that from a reviewer.

So, all is well, and we have just 2 weeks to go … it’s been a great year with lots of trips and we’ve gotten a lot accomplished. I’m pleased.
